DR. JASON HALL
Veterinarian
Dr. Jason Hall is a Richmond native, having grown up in Midlothian. Since graduating from veterinary school at the University of Glasgow, Scotland in 2007, Dr. Hall has been practicing here in Richmond. He was lucky enough to convince his lovely Irish bride to follow him back to the States, where she also is a practicing veterinarian. They are kept busy otherwise by their two young boys as well as three dogs. When he is not busy taking care of companion animals, Dr. Hall enjoys spending time with his family and going on the odd fishing trip.

DR. DEBORAH STRATTON
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Deborah Stratton grew up in the Short Pump area and was excited to move back to Virginia after attending veterinary school at the University of Illinois. After graduating, she attended a rotating internship in Springfield, VA where she worked closely with many specialists and saw emergency cases through the ER. She further pursued her interest in surgery by accepting a surgical internship at CVETS in South Carolina. Moving back to Virginia once this was completed, she most recently worked as an emergency veterinarian before joining the Farmers team. She currently lives with her sister and their six cats. When not at work, she enjoys playing games (video, card, and RPG), riding her horse, and reading.

ASHTON
Office Manager
Born in Lynchburg, VA. Since a young age, I’ve always had a deep passion for animals and an endless thirst for knowledge. In 2010, I found that veterinary medicine was a perfect mix of my two passions when I started my first job at a veterinary hospital as a kennel assistant. Since then, I have worked every position in a veterinary hospital and even medical managed a rescue horse farm located in Forest, VA. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, video games, hiking, checking out the local food scene, and spending time with my wife Amber and our little zoo of fluffy babies.

BETHANY
Groomer
My name is Bethany, and I’ve been the groomer here at Farmer’s Veterinary Hospital since 2019. I believe a brushed dog is a loved dog! I‘ve always been blessed with growing up with some great animals. I’ve always loved brushing and caring for them. After getting my associate’s degree, I attended Virginia School of Pet Grooming located in Northern Virginia. There, I learned how to safely and professionally groom dogs and cats. I take a lot of pride in my work and look at every animal as a member of the Farmer’s family!

KRISTEN
Veterinary Technician
I’ve lived in the Montpelier/Beaverdam area my entire life and have always had a passion for all animals, large and small. I originally started in the veterinary field at 15 years old and officially became a licensed technician in 2020. I began working at Farmer’s Veterinary Hospital full-time in September 2023. I reside on a large farm with all kinds of animals and make it my goal to treat every animal as my own. When I’m not working in a veterinary hospital, you can find me working on the farm playing with all sorts of machinery and critters. I love spending a day outside with my husband enjoying the sunshine.

Veterinary Assitants
EMILY
Veterinary Assistant
I started working in the veterinary field in 2016 after graduating from Christopher Newport University. Before coming to Farmer’s in March of 2021 I worked as a zoo keeper at Busch Gardens and was medical manager at a horse boarding facility. I have two senior rescue Siberian Huskies (Tegan and Luca), a fluffy cat (Monet), and a large Flemish Giant Rabbit (Yuki). I love animals of all shapes and sizes.

TAYLOR
Veterinary Assistant
Hello! I am a graduate of The Virginia State University, class of Fall 2020, who has had a love for animals since a very young age. I have been working in the veterinary field for 6 years, starting off as a receptionist and working my way up to a veterinary assistant. I have recently joined Farmer’s team to continue my due diligence in caring for pets in need.

DUSTIN
Veterinary Assistant
Born in Richmond, VA, I’ve been working in the veterinary field since I was 17. I began working at Farmer’s Veterinary Hospital in 2005. In the years I’ve been at Farmer’s I have developed close bonds with many of the clients and their beloved pets. In my free time, I like to listen to music, play video games, watch TV, try different hot spicy foods, and spend time with family.

Client Service Coordinators
SUZI
Client Service Coordinator
My love of animals began at an early age. I brought home every stray I found: large or small, cat or dog, frogs or snakes (of course these were not allowed in the house), even birds. At age 13, I brought home a horse proudly declaring, “I bought him for a dollar!” Before coming to Farmer’s in August 2021, I have had a diverse career that has always involved animals. I graduated from Meredith Manor Equestrian Center and went on to manage a small dressage/eventing barn in Tennessee. While living in Knoxville, TN, I met my husband Chris. We have been together for 25 years. I then worked for a groomer as a bather and receptionist, which launched my career as a Veterinary Technician. I have trained dogs in obedience, agility, Schutzhund, and also my own service dog. I’m currently owned by four German Shepherds: Unga, Bunga, Loki, and Dougal.

Chelsea
Client Service Coordinator
Born and raised in Richmond VA, my passion for veterinary medicine started at a young age. I would take my dad’s stethoscope and listen playing doctor among iny pets. I started my journey as an assistant in 2014 until 2020. I continued my education at Chesterfield Tech Center in the Veterinary Assistant program absorbing more knowledge to help families as well as their loved fur babies. I find veterinary medicine very intriguing as our pets aren’t able to relay what’s going on and it’s Tike putting a puzzle together. I came to Farmers as a receptionist in 2024 to continue my passion and knowledge. In my spare time I cuddle with my dog, Cooper Jar Jar and 2 cats, Binx & Kush while reading or crocheting. I look forward to helping families with their fur babies and meeting new clients. Farmers not only allows me to help but to also continue my education in the vet industry.
